Karen Smith

Karen Smith is the Office Manager and Executive Assistant to Syd Hurley. She was hired by Mr. Hurley in September of 1987 during his tenure at Weitzman Group and was asked by Hurley to be a founding member of Direct Development more than 10 years later. At Direct she also worked in a legal capacity with their general counsel, handling closing and due diligence work for acquisitions, dispositions and other tenant legal matters. In 2007, Smith was again invited to help form Vista Property Company with Hurley, marking more than 36 years as his associate. Her duties at Vista include investor relations, entity formation and tax matters.

Smith graduated from Baylor University in 1983 with a Business/Foreign Language degree.
